Mike Huff

Democrat

I am a 26 year veteran supervisor on day shift patrol with the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department. I started as a Deputy Sheriff in 1979 and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1988. I have served throughout the various divisions of the Sheriff's Department. For nearly 4 years I specialized in drug enforcement with the Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group, as well as the large scale Federal drug probe, code named Operation Adobe.

I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Illinois University in Law Enforcement Administration in 1979. I received an Associate of Arts' Degree in Law Enforcement from Black Hawk College. I am a graduate of United Township High School East Moline, Silvis Junior High, and George O' Barr grade schools.

I was born in Silvis, IL in 1957 and have been a life-long resident of the community. I am a member of Heritage Wesleyan Church Rock Island.

I am a current and longest serving Union Representative of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 61 representing Deputy Sheriff's of the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department, and have been elected to multiple terms. My union advocacy is chronicled in Illinois State Labor Relations Board case law.

I am dedicated to saving our tax dollars, while improving service to residents of Rock Island County, with emphasis on services to our senior citizens by instituting the TRIAD system. A system developed to check on our senior citizens and shut-ins who live alone.
